    　3月9日より，ゲーム開発者の祭典「Game Developers Conference 2010」が開催されている。会場は例年と同じサンフランシスコのモスコーニセンターなのだが，いつもは中心的な役割を果たしていたモスコーニウェストは使わず，サウスとノースだけを使ったり，月曜日から金曜日までの日程だったものが，火曜日から土曜日のあいだに変わっていたりと，なにやら例年とは違った雰囲気もうかがえる。
    　今年は，コンシューマゲーム機の三大プラットフォーマーによる基調講演が行われず，基調講演はシド?マイヤー氏のみとなるなど，ちょっと寂しいところなのだが，GDCの規模自体は拡大している。今年は，本編のGDCと併催されるかたちで，iPhoneやソーシャルゲーム関係のサブイベントが加わっており，セッション数は400を超える空前の規模となっている。さらに，全世界からゲーム業界の最先端を競う発表がされることに変わりはなく，期待の話題作の最新情報なども拾えるのがGDCの楽しみでもある。
    　4Gamer編集部も今年は取材の規模を拡大して，GDCの動向や業界のコアな話を掘り起こしてお伝えしたい。お楽しみに。
